Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

TandaBox is built to work without collecting your data. This policy explains exactly what that means.

The short version

TandaBox has no user account, no backend server, and no analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDKs. Your music library, tandas, milonga playlists, and listening activity stay on your device. We do not receive your track titles, artist names, filenames, playlist names, listening history, or device identifiers.

What TandaBox does on your device

  • Stores the music files you import and their metadata locally, in TandaBox’s own on-device library
  • Analyzes tracks for ReplayGain (loudness) so playback volume is consistent — this happens entirely on-device
  • Remembers your tandas, milonga playlists, and playback position so you can pick up where you left off

None of this leaves your iPhone unless you explicitly use a feature that does, as described below.

Mac Companion transfers

If you use the free Mac Companion, transfers happen directly between your Mac and your iPhone over your local Wi-Fi network. This requires local network access, which iOS will ask you to approve. TandaBox does not route this traffic through the internet or through any server we operate.

Purchases

TandaBox purchases (Tanda Builder Pack, Equalizer Pack, and future packs) are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We receive verified entitlement information to unlock features on your device — we do not receive your payment details, which are handled entirely by Apple.

Last.fm (future, opt-in only)

A future update will let you optionally connect a Last.fm account to scrobble your listening activity. If you choose to enable this, your Last.fm token and listening metadata are sent directly from your device to Last.fm — never through a TandaBox server. This feature is off by default and only activates if you explicitly opt in. This policy will be updated with full detail before that feature ships.

App Store privacy label

TandaBox’s App Store privacy label reflects our actual practice: Data Not Collected. This is verified against the app’s build and every bundled dependency before each submission.

Children’s privacy

TandaBox does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.

Changes to this policy

If TandaBox’s data practices change — for example, when the Last.fm feature ships — this page and the App Store privacy answers will be updated first, and the change will be described clearly here.
