TandaBox Mac Companion

Free. Forever. No account required.

The Mac Companion is how you get your music library ready for TandaBox on iPhone. Organize your files into tandas and milonga playlists on a bigger screen, then send everything to your iPhone over your local network.

Coming soon. The Mac Companion is in active development. This page will carry the download link, release notes, and system requirements as soon as it’s ready for release.

What the Mac Companion does

  • Select files and folders from Finder, or locate DRM-free tracks you already manage in Swinsian or Music
  • Read metadata and embedded artwork automatically
  • Build tandas manually, with traditional four-track tango and three-track vals/milonga guidance
  • Build and reorder milonga playlists from your saved tandas
  • Discover and pair with your iPhone on your local network, then send tracks, tandas, and playlists — byte for byte, no re-encoding

What it doesn’t do

The Mac Companion won’t build tandas or milongas for you automatically, score compatibility, or plan your set. It’s a bridge for organizing what you already know you want to play — the DJ’s judgment stays with you.

Installing the Mac Companion

TandaBox’s Mac Companion is distributed directly from this website, not through the Mac App Store. It’s signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS will let it run without extra steps — download, open, and approve it like any other trusted Mac app.

(System requirements and the download button will appear here once the first build ships.)

Sending to iPhone

Once you’ve organized your library on the Mac, pair the Companion with TandaBox on your iPhone over the same local Wi-Fi network. No internet connection leaves your network — transfers happen device to device.
