Need a hand?
A question, a bug, an idea: write any time. The reply comes from the developer, because there’s no one else here.
Email reaches me directly. The community group is where release notes, beta news and feature requests are shared — and where you’ll hear first when the Mac beta is ready. Both work; neither needs an account with us.
Frequently asked questions
Which audio formats does TandaBox play?
MP3, M4A/AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, and AIFF. OGG, Opus, and WMA aren’t supported yet. Files are played exactly as they are — TandaBox never converts or re-encodes your audio.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once your tracks are imported, everything plays offline. You only need a connection to download the app in the first place — and, later, for optional features that explicitly connect to a service.
What’s free in the iPhone app?
Unlimited playback with no ads: background audio, CarPlay, cortinas, plus room to store and play up to six Mac-created tandas (four tango, one vals, one milonga) and one milonga playlist. One-time purchases unlock unlimited tandas and on-iPhone creation.
How do I restore my purchases?
Purchases are tied to your Apple ID. On a new or reset device, open Settings inside TandaBox and tap “Restore Purchases.”
Does it work with CarPlay?
Yes — browsing and playback are fully supported in the car. Creating or editing tandas isn’t available in CarPlay; that stays on iPhone, for safety.
How does the Mac-to-iPhone transfer work?
Over your local Wi-Fi network only, after you explicitly pair the two devices. Files travel directly between your Mac and iPhone and are verified after copying — nothing goes through a server.
What about my privacy?
TandaBox has no account, no backend, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. Nothing about your library or your listening leaves your device. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Does it work with Apple Music?
Not at launch — DRM-protected downloads can’t be played. A reliable Apple Music connection is being researched for a later release.
