Frequently asked questions

What audio formats does TandaBox support? MP3, M4A/AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, and AIFF. OGG, Opus, and WMA aren’t supported yet.

Do I need an internet connection to use TandaBox? No. Once your tracks are imported, everything plays offline. An internet connection is only needed for the App Store download itself and, later, for the optional Last.fm feature.

How many tandas can I store for free? Up to six Mac-created tandas (four tango, one vals, one milonga) and one Mac-created milonga playlist built from those tandas — with unlimited local track playback and no ads. Tanda Builder Pack removes those limits and adds tanda creation directly on iPhone.

I bought a Pack — how do I restore it on a new device? Open Settings in TandaBox and use Restore Purchases. TandaBox uses one-time, non-consumable purchases, so your Packs are tied to your Apple ID and restore automatically.

Does TandaBox work with CarPlay? Yes. You can browse your tandas and saved milonga playlists, resume your last session, and use standard playback controls from CarPlay. Creating or editing tandas isn’t available in CarPlay — that stays on iPhone, for safety.

How does the Mac Companion send music to my iPhone? Over your local Wi-Fi network only, after you explicitly pair the two devices and accept the transfer on iPhone. Nothing goes through the cloud.

Does TandaBox track my listening? No. TandaBox has no account, no backend, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. Your library and listening activity stay on your device. See our [Privacy Policy] for details.

Will TandaBox support Apple Music? It’s being researched for a later release. Phase 1 is local-file playback only.
